Tell me about yourself… |
This is the key question common to all job interviews. It seems that every employer wants to know something about the job candidate before deciding to invest in them.
What if the question was asked from a spiritual perspective? What if the person speaking to you wanted to know, not about your hobbies and personal life, but about your faith? What if you were called to defend your hope in Christ? How would you answer?
The apostle Paul receives this opportunity in Acts 26 and proceeds to tell King Agrippa about himself, but maybe not the way we would do it today. He doesn’t try to sell Christ to Agrippa in terms of the church he attends, the doctrine he preaches, nor the way he dresses. Instead Paul delivers a powerful, compelling testimony composed of three important elements:
When you and I are called to speak about who we are, can we relate to the apostle and talk about a time when we were far from God’s grace? Do we recognize how much we needed the touch of the Saviour? Is there a moment of divine appointment when we met Him in a real and personal way? Can we truthfully declare that our life has sincerely changed since that time?
The world wants to know about you. What can you tell them about yourself?
